This page is dedicated to outlining the rules of the Undertale AU Fanon Wiki. It is required that all new users visit this page to ensure an understanding of the rules in place.
Any questions about rules? Feel free to contact any of the staff here for help!
Article Creation
Claiming ownership of articles themselves is not allowed. Obviously, you can claim ownership of an AU or character you made yourself, but a page for a character you ported from Tumblr that you found is editable by everyone.
Edits of articles should have at least decent grammar and spelling. (This excludes non-english speakers. All NES can request the help of english speaking members at any point to help them port a page to english.
Pages shouldn't have too many categories (ideally less than 10) with the exception of major pages, just so they aren't clogged up with meaningless categories.
Article Deletion
Articles can be deleted for 2 basic reasons:
Containing rule-breaking content. These can and will be deleted without notice.
Not meeting standards, or grammar/formatting (these are just examples, all other standards apply). These pages will be marked with the corresponding improvement templates.
COPPA
In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), users under the age of 13 are not allowed to interact with the wiki in any way beyond visiting it.
Since we can't really know the age of users without them telling us (which they shouldn't) we base it off maturity. If you act like you're at least 13, you won't be violating any rules.
Vandalism
Vandalism is considered to be either undoing constrictive edits, changing the content for the worse intentionally, or flat out blanking the page. If you break this rule on purpose for any reason, you will be instantly blocked or even worse, permanently banned depending on the severity of the vandalization and your history of rule-breaking.
Flaming
Flaming is intentionally picking fights with other users. It is generally dealt with more quickly and seriously than most offenses.
Spam
The spamming rule is simple. Don't fill up pages and discussions with the same thing over and over. Doing so will result in punishment.
Page Rules
• Do not lack detail in pages, if the page is a stub, categorize it as "stub".
• Don't post screamers (infamously known as jumpscares) anywhere on the wiki as some users can suffer panic attacks or heart attacks from them and you will be blamed and appropriately punished for your thoughtlessness.
• Please try to edit your user page, though it's not mandatory, introductions are fun and make you more approachable!
• Please do not steal other people's Art, AUs and/or OCs. Make sure you give credit them in the description, even if you made it yourself (Traced or re-colored art does not mean it is yours as you did not make the original art. However, you can reference the art, but you must credit the artist who you referenced). No one wants their stuff to be stolen.
• Do not abuse categories! This is considered vandalization and spam.
Discussions:
The following rules are used for talk pages, the wiki chat, and comments sections to pages.
- Any form of bigotry or attack against ethnicity, race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, sexual status, disability, socioeconomic status, mental or physical ability or other similar characteristics will result in an automatic kick. Avoid breaking this rule at all costs.
- Please refrain from starting drama on any discussions.
- Do not join chat just to start things or stir controversy with other wikis as this is deemed "cross-wiki drama" and is a FANDOM global offense if done repeatedly.
- Don't be toxic! Nobody wants your toxicity! Making comments filled with toxicity will be deleted and you'll be warned or possibly banned without warning.
- Please don't disrespect or backlash other's opinions.
- No flamewars allowed!
- Spamming is prohibited. The spamming rule is quite simple. Just don't post stuff that is considered unimportant or annoying to other users.
General:
- Please do not bring problems from non-affiliated wikis or external websites here.
- Do not give any users your personal information! (Such as location, zip code, et cetera.)
- COPPA applies everywhere.
- Affiliating wikis are something we don't tend to do anymore. If you are looking to affiliate with people, we are not the place to ask.
- Sockpuppeting (from both the discussions and wiki) and hacking will NOT be tolerated and will be taken action against,
- No mocking or using a deficiency as a means of joking.
- Do not under any circumstances attack, intimidate, or harass other users.
Do not post any form of pornography on anywhere on this wiki. The pornography sent will be deleted as soon as possible and you will be permanently IP banned if you break this rule.
- For everyone's safety, try to avoid talking about sensitive topics such as self harm, suicide, etc. If you are suicidal or anyone you know is suicidal, call the suicide prevention number. We want you to be safe, and thus recommend you to contact the relevant authorities first.
- Do not create unnecessary categories or templates; upon notice, they will most likely be deleted within a day. If you do believe said template/category is necessary, contact a Staff member.
- Attempted or successful bribery is not tolerated here. If there is evidence that you offered or accepted bribery in a court case, you shall receive a temporary block.
- Editing out warnings that were solicited by an authority figure (For example: DarknessReaper9) without permission from said authorities. Anybody that breaks this rule will be punished by at minimum a 7 day block and at maximum if very severe and has been repeated multiple times a permanent ban.
Consequences
- Most of the time, everyone will get 3 strikes before a ban. One warning, and three kicks as we feel this is enough to get the point across.
- Blocks/bans will be decided per-instance, there is not a general block/ban length.
- The more offences made, the longer the punishment.
- Sockpuppeting, hacking, and spamming will result in an instant account ban.
- Attacking other editors will also result in a block/ban. If a user repeatedly breaks a rule, they will be banned (but only after being given warnings).
- Depending on how seriously a rule is broken,
a user may be banned before being given a warning, and possibly permanently banned.

Condensed New Ruleset for Speed Learning
- You must be at least 13 years of age to contribute to the Undertale AU Fanon Wiki, as per Fandom guidelines. Since we can't really know the age of users without them telling us (which they shouldn't), we base it off maturity. If you act like you are 13 or older, you won't be violating any rules.
- No form of NSFW or adult content is allowed on the wiki. This includes gore, pornography, or other disturbing content.
- Don't spam or participate in chain mailing. Some forms of spamming may be ok, but only in the case of spamming that is clearly ironic and not disruptive to any other users. (Chain mailing is things like "Sans undertale grabbed my balls, send this to 10 other people or he'll grab yours too!")
- Harassment, trolling or abuse, for whatever reason, are not tolerated.
- No discrimination based on race, religion, gender, beliefs, disorders, etc. This shouldn't be a hateful community.
- Real-world politics are banned. If you try to push an agenda or advocate for an ideology/politician, you are all but welcome here. Casual political references or memes that are visibly ironic and do not cause any plausible offence are still tolerated, but discouraged.
- You can create as many sockpuppet/alternate accounts as you want, but using them to manipulate polls or cause confusion is not tolerated. Alongside this, all sockpuppet/alternate account must be listed on your main profile page. If you use an alternate account to evade a ban, that account will be banned for at least twice as long as your previous ban. Should you continue, we will simply contact Fandom to IP ban you.
- Don't use language intended to offend, target or discriminate against someone (racial, homophobic, hateful or any other form of slurs).
- Don't get into flame wars with other users. The best thing to do when you encounter a troll is to report them to the admins and leave them alone.
- Claiming ownership of articles themselves is not allowed. Obviously, you can claim ownership of an AU or character you made yourself, but a page for a character you ported from Tumblr that you found is editable by everyone.
- Edits of articles should have at least decent grammar and spelling. We encourage using grammar checkers if you find this a difficulty. However, this rule excludes non-English speakers. All NES can request the help of English speaking members at any point to help them port a page to English via Discussions.
- Pages shouldn't have too many categories (ideally less than 10) with the exception of major pages, so they aren't clogged up with meaningless categories.
- Spamming edits/categories/images for the sole purpose of earning badges is not tolerated.
- Abuse of Staff powers or not following rules may result in demotion or a ban.
- Don't disrespect or mock any other users or Wiki Staff. The exceptions are well known rule-breakers.
- Don't block users, delete pages, or revert edits without a valid reason. Make sure to give a reason when you perform such an action.
